Human Resources Generalist

Location:          101 Mercury Drive, Units 12 & 13, Champaign, IL 61822

Reports to:       CEO

Schedule:         Part-time, Flexible; 20-25 hours per week

Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will oversee all HR relations including but not limited to policy compliance, compensation, benefits, recruitment, and more. The ideal candidate will practice the utmost confidentiality in their work with a high level of integrity, character, morals, and ethics. They will demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail at all times, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to function independently.  They will also demonstrate sensitivity to the nuances of cultural differences and the ability to help others with those differences

    Requirements and Qualifications

          • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
          • 2+ years experience in human resources or related position
          • PHR or equivalent certification a plus
          • Knowledge of policies, federal and state laws as they relate to HR policies, practices and procedures, benefit programs, employee and labor relations, payroll administration, recruitment techniques, and EEO
          • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across many organizational levels
          • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite including Word and Excel
          • Knowledge of ADP a plus

    Professional Sales Associate

    Location:          2017 South Neil Street, Suites 3 & 4, Champaign, IL 61820

    Reports to:       Director of Retail Operations, Floor managers

    Schedule:         Full-time, Part-time

    Position Overview

    Champaign Outdoors Sales Associates are our frontline brand ambassadors. Our brick and mortar sales floor is where the unique experience of Champaign Outdoors comes to life. Our floor staff is vital to delivering the knowledge and customer service that offers a distinctive shopping experience and drives sales results. These motivated and professional self-starters are responsible for assisting customers throughout their visit, from arrival to completed purchase. They create positive experiences for customers while providing expert guidance, in order to best meet their needs.

    Position Responsibilities

      • Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment, greeting customers, making a connection, asking questions, and listening to shoppers in order to effectively assist each individual with their unique needs
      • Utilizing product and feature knowledge to recommend, explain, and demonstrate merchandise to best meet each customer’s individual needs
      • Answering customers’ queries and concerns; helping resolve concerns or complaints
        in a courteous, sincere, and professional manner
      • Making a lasting, positive impression on all customers, and representing the store in a positive manner
      • Succeed by remaining engaged, energetic, and high-performing through collaboration and teamwork
      • Maintaining highest level of product, and technical knowledge and utilizing training opportunities
      • Compliance with all policies, procedures, and sales support functions related to
        POS systems and procedures
      • Maintaining awareness of current promotional events and sales
      • Keeping a sense of pride and ownership in store appearance by assisting with stocking, merchandising, and maintaining good housekeeping standards
      • Adhering to loss prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures

    Requirements and Qualifications

      • Sales acumen and prior retail experience preferred
      • Energy, enthusiasm, and dependability
      • Strong communication skills, and an ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of customers
      • Organizational skills and an ability to multi-task
      • Passion for the outdoors and/or experience in outdoor activities a plus.
