Mountainfilm on Tour Champaign

The 21st Annual Mountainfilm on Tour in Champaign-Urbana is happening April 9th at The Art Theater. Join us for an evening of inspiring and captivating films handpicked from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado. Sponsored by The North Face.

Founded in 1979, Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. The annual festival is held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride. Mountainfilm is a dynamic organization and festival of films, people, art, stories, and ideas that celebrate indomitable spirit, educates and inspires audiences, and motivates individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Champaign-Urbana will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and enlightening documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. A Mountainfilm presenter will guide the audience through the program providing insight on the films, filmmakers and subjects.

For the past 20 years, Champaign Outdoors has donated the proceeds from Mountainfilm on Tour to a wonderfully deserving non-profit. This year, we let our community join us in choosing this local organization... and you chose CU Able!

The mission of CU Able is to bring families, resources and community together to celebrate and support kids with disabilities by providing, advocacy, education, and awareness about the disability community throughout Champaign County.

The Mountainfilm Grant money will go to funding programs that get kids and their families outside, either in the form of family camping trips to Timber Pointe Outdoor Center, an accessible camp just north of Bloomington, or for day trips to Illinois Nature Preserves and State Parks.

Tickets are on sale now at The Art Theater or online. This event typically sells out so don't wait to get your tickets!
